Senior Product Engineer

Location: Rochester, NY

Job Summary:

The Senior Product Engineer is a product support position in the Rochester based Embedded Solutions Group. The Senior Product Engineer supports products with hardware content from release through end of life.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for life cycle engineering support from product release through end of life (EOL) for hardware based products in the Embedded Solutions Group
  
• Responsible for problem analysis, design changes, updating design documentation, and issuing design change notices.
  
• Responsible for analysis of component Product Change Notices (PCN).
  
• Responsible for component evaluations and qualifications.
  
• Responsible for minor PCB design changes.
  
• Responsible for maintaining proficiency in high performance computer design using knowledge in areas such as high speed transmission lines, multi-layer PCB designs, 32/64 bit microprocessor design, high speed memory design, Verilog HDL, Ethernet, T1/E1, and PCI Express.
  
• Responsible for maintaining proficiency in the tools used by the corporation. Examples of such would be databases, computer systems, text editors, word processors, schematic editors, logic design tools, simulators, debuggers, RTOSs, mechanical drawing packages, spreadsheets, GUIs, test tools, logic analyzers, scopes, DVMs, power supplies, test chambers, and any other tool that may pertain to a product.
  
• Responsible for written and oral communication with customers, vendors, and other internal departments.
  
• Responsible for multitasking multiple open issues.
  
• Responsible for timely and accurate reporting on the progress of work in progress and establishing maintaining agreed upon schedules.
  
• Must be willing to travel, when necessary.
  

Education and Work Experience:

• Requires a BS degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering and 8+ years in Hardware Design and/or Product Support.
