Job Summary:

Performance Technologies Signaling Systems group is seeking Signaling Software Engineers to compliment its existing team of professionals. This team is responsible for the creation of our SS7 products used in signaling environments. Our customers range from tier 3 to tier 1 Telecom carriers who have an expectation and need for high quality, mission critical systems.

We are seeking experienced developers in either Web development or SS7 Signaling development. Both Web and SS7 developers should expect to find themselves as part of a small and dynamic team. They will be responsible to:

• Evaluate and assess proposals for specialized products.
  
• Design, implement and document specialized products.
  
• Manage personal schedule and adhere to committed timelines.
  
• Build test tools and suites for specialized products.
  
• Unit test products developed.
  
• Research, understand and communicate complex product specifications, using resources such as product specifications, industry knowledge, and international standards.
  
• Assist customers with product related issues as 3rd level support.
  
• As senior developer, the candidate should be influencing his/her peers and improving the development processes in use by all.

The Signaling Developers, depending upon their experience level, will be called upon to mentor other employees, to share knowledge and provide input on new features being added to our products and our internal processes. Product teams in the Signaling Systems group are regularly formed of members in other groups including Test, Development, Marketing, Documentation and Support. The Signaling Developers should expect to be part of such multi-disciplinary teams to work on new ideas, processes or product improvement.

For the Developers focusing on signaling, experience with SS7, C++ and Linux are highly sought after attributes.
For the Developers focusing on Web development, experience with Telco OSS systems, Linux, databases, and SS7 are highly sought after attributes.

Required Skills and Work Experience:

• Five or more years of professional C++ development experience (SS7 Developers)
  
• Five or more years of PHP, Java or other Web enabling languages.
  
• Strong experience in distributed processing
  
• Strong experience in Object Oriented design.
  
• Extensive experience in the telecommunication field
  
• Strong knowledge of signaling protocols, especially SS7
  
• Strong knowledge of Telco OSS products.
  
• Thorough knowledge of signaling networks, both as a user and as a developer
  
• Familiarity with Open Source packages
  
• Linux knowledge & experience
  
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written
  
• A minimum of five years experience with telecom products
  
• Ability to work in as part of small, dynamic and skilled team.

Education Requirements:

• Bachelors degree or college diploma in a suitable technology field.
